La Grande Bellezza (2013) is an Italian drama film about Jep Gambardella (Toni Servillo), a 65-year-old journalist who, after years of glamour and partying, suddenly realizes the emptiness of his existence. After his successful debut novel, he leads a superficial life in Rome but ultimately decides to search for the true meaning of life.
Director Paolo Sorrentino creates a visually immersive film that exposes the decadent Roman beau monde while also paying tribute to the city. The film won numerous international awards, including the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
